HOW TO USE HYALURONIC ACID SERUM
Step 1: Wash your face using your favorite cleanser.
Step 2: Apply a toner or facial mist and DO NOT PAT DRY. If you prefer not to use a toner, spritz your face with some water.
Step 3: Gently apply your Hyaluronic Acid serum onto your DAMP face.
Step 4: Apply your moisturizer to help seal in the moisture, but also to provide moisture for the Hyaluronic Acid to absorb.
Step 5: Follow with your preferred eye cream.
Step 6: Apply a sunscreen and allow to dry.
Step 7: You’re ready to start applying your makeup!
The most important thing to remember in this process is that hyaluronic acid should be applied to damp skin, not dry.
If not, it could actually have the reverse effect. Remember that Hyaluronic Acid is a magnet for moisture and if your skin is dry, it will grasp any moisture it can find from the deeper layers of the skin to hydrate the surface.
If Hyaluronic Acid comes into contact with water first, this will not happen.
Instead you’ll be left with skin that is hydrated, smoothed and plumped!
Technology
The molecular size of Hyaluronic Acid determines its depth of delivery in the skin. This formulation combines low-, medium- and high-molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid, as well as a next-generation Hyaluronic Acid crosspolymer at a combined concentration of 2% for multi-depth hydration in a water-based formula. This system is supported with the addition of Vitamin B5 which also enhances surface hydration.
Note: Hyaluronic Acid is found in the skin naturally but its natural function within the skin is not hydration. Many products have used Hyaluronic Acid to claim hydration benefits, but Hyaluronic Acid is too large of a molecule to penetrate the skin and instead sits on the surface and can draw moisture out of the skin making the surface feel soft and hydrated temporarily, while making you feel like you need more Hyaluronic Acid after the product is rinsed. This formula uses three forms of Hyaluronic Acid with varying molecular weights, as well as an Hyaluronic Acid crosspolymer, to offer multi-depth hydration and visible plumping without drawing water out of the skin solely to improve temporary surface hydration.
Directions
Patch tests are an easy way to help predict if you may experience a negative initial reaction to a new product. It is recommended to perform a patch test before incorporating any new product into your regimen. We have outlined a general method for conducting your own patch test below based on the type of product.
- Apply a small amount of the product onto a clean area of skin on the upper forearm.
- Keep the area dry.
- If the product has a specified duration of use, rinse off after this time has elapsed. Otherwise rinse off after 24 hours.
- If any redness, burning, itching, blistering or irritation is observed at any time throughout the test, do not use the product.
